CARE

About a month ago, while reading the newspaper, I learned of the Center for Animal Research and Education (CARE) in Bridgeport (about an hour northwest of Fort Worth). CARE is an animal sanctuary which rescues lions, tigers, cougars and leopards which have been abused or are injured or sick. Many of these cats were owned by individuals who actually thought they could own a cat like this in their home.

They were having a fundraiser in December where you go see the cats at night. They had Christmas decor up with lights on the cats' cages and it was such a fun time, even if it was freezing.

It's a really great place that you should definitely go check out if you live in the area. It's not bad to get in ($10 donation for adults, $5 for kids) and it's a much cooler experience than a zoo because you can literally be about 4 feet from these cats. You get to hear their stories and learn about each cats' individual personality.

Can you spot the tiger behind Jacob? He's eating a "present" (a wrapped box with some chicken inside).
White tigers are my FAVORITE.
He's not FREEZING or anything.
Here kitty, kitty.
This is Jacob (with Daddy's help) throwing a present.
And here's the tiger enjoying his present.
Then, Jacob got to feed a tiger some chicken (notice the tongs).
And then, there was Sampson. Sampson is the male lion of CARE and he's pretty awesome. This is Jacob feeding him.
BFFs.
I ended up going back a couple weeks ago to do a story about CARE.
Here's my story!
